nice, idiotproof fission reactor sounds like a good solution til fusion becomes feasible. 30 seconds in a tokamak is pretty good though, last I heard it was still in the millisecond range so that would make this a massive improvement. oh well, most of ontario runs on nuclear and hydro anyway, our problem is not lack of power generation but rather all the power outages; brownouts when U.S. reactors go tits up, blackouts when a storm shorts out a transformer site, etc.

Personally I'm more interested in private power generation. Would be nice to buy a plot of land somewhere, throw up a 2kW solar panel setup for 10G and then keep a shed with one of these in it for extra juice on demand:
