Got my central A/C unit freezing (white frost, not clear ice) up outside. Froze the coil and part of the pipe coming into the house and hence reduced airflow upstairs to a mere breath instead of a free flowing breeze.
I've since shut down the A/C and ran just the fan to extinguish all water buildup and melt the frost surrounding my A-coil inside the outdoor unit.
After about 2-3 hours, I've just now turned it back on, and it's blowing a lot better.
My guesses: Low on ref. 22, possible leak. One of those two as motors seem to be good, both in and out. Air returns are clear, new filter in furnace went in today. Reduced the number of closed registers in the house as well.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
