Counter-Strike: Source not loading in Steam

As Samuel Jackson once said: "My name is Pitt, and I"m tired of this shit!" I can not load Half-Life: Source or even Counter-Strike Source. I've tried through steam and through my desktop Counter-Strike: Source shortcut. I'll load Steam properly, internet is working fine, It'll say "Loading Counter-Strike: Source" with that little pop up screen when you click it under my games, and then the fucker never loads up. And when I try to load it up again by clicking on the same way, the game keeps telling me: "Error game is currently unavailable". WTF Is that? Of course the mother fucking game is available, it just won't make it available for me. Need mega uber l33t help here guys. P.S. My programs I have under windows startup/msconfig are: "avp" (Kaspersky Anti-virus protection), bdagent (Bit Defender Anti-Virus), NvCpl and cftmon.

Ok, I re-installed windows, re-installed staem, and I get the same stupid shit...I'll click on load counter-strike:source, it'll pretend it's loading and then the load screen disappears and now when I click on it again to load (since the first time failed miserably) it says "error: CS:S is currently unavailable"...A lot of people have the same problem and there really hasn't been a solution to this that I can find. Anyone smart know the answer?

You could try

- Verifying steam cache files
- deleting clientregistry.blob
- removing hax, you fag, it'll work great after
- removing one of two antiviruses
- check all firewall settings (this includes windows, Kas. AND Bit-Defender = way too much)
- Verify GCF Cache Files

If you've re-installed Windows WITHOUT WIPING YOUR PREVIOUS INSTALLATION, AND YOU ARE USING YOUR OLD COPY OF CSS READ HERE:

- Make sure all files and folders in your WHOLE root directory are NOT read-only and make sure you have full permissions for them. If not, your games will not load, and you'll get some error message about why you suck.

Last but not least, you can try this method:

1) Right click your available games -> properties, and turn off update automatically. All of them.

2) Exit and Log out of steam and restart your computer.

3) Start Steam then in the games menu just double click on HLife to update it, when play game appears, play it, update the server list then once you have a list of servers log out of steam again.

4) Restart your computer.

5) Once it is booted up again start Steam and double click CS, then you can play.

(These last 5 steps are taken from this thread:

I hope you get it sorted out.

Thanks for the help Buckshot. I actually found a rather cheezy technique that works 80% of the time...for some reason, if I start up my computer with Steam startup on Windows prompt, and I right click CS:S under my games then click load game, opposed to double-clicking it, it usually loads. Oddly enough, if I double-click CS:S instead of right-clicking then loading it it won't work.
