I'm curious to see what you fellows would think of setting up a friendly LAN tournament in the GTA this year. I think we have the numbers for a good turn out and I think it would be fun!

Logistics seems to be the biggest issue. We tried to organize an online tournament, but that turned to shit lol.

i find online tournaments don't have the draw that live LAN tournaments do. With online you have ping issues, DCing, and other bullshit. That is all eliminated with LAN. If we get enough interest I will start looking around for places we can do it and figure out cost etc.

Hey everyone,

Please stay tuned for an official announcement as me and a friend are building a local league already and are hoping to launch in August. At this moment before any official post, please check out www.esports-social.com and sign up to get the latest info.

CS:GO Players,

A friend of mine and I are launching the eSports Social League (http://esports-social.com/) - an organization dedicated to increasing face-to-face competition among local players by hosting weekly matches (via LAN) in downtown Toronto. The goal is to have players build meaningful relationships through friendly competition in the same manner that traditional sports leagues do.

Target Start Date: Late Aug/Early Sept 2015

Prizes: TBD (either Cash or Gaming Hardware)

Teams: Up to 8 players (only 5 active per match)

If anyone is interested in building a local team or signing-up solo via pug, you can do so at: http://esports-social.com/register
