Alright, so I've been messing with this forever because I just CANNOT play the game the way it plays after this update fucked it up. I'm 70% back (for now) to where I was in terms of smoothness, fps, and overall gameplay. Here's what I did.
Launch Options
- Removed everything except -noforcemparms and -noforcemaccel from launch options. Gone are the days of DX 8 or 9 etc., same for heapsize, all that shit. GONE.
Console
- cl_interp in console. Mine was .1, I changed it to .12 (fuck with it, see how your ping reacts, as well as your smoothness.
- In console, mat_que_mode (or whatever) to 2. **Revert back to "mat_que_mode 0" to turn off if it gets worse.
Once You Launch CS:S
- Go into video settings and turn off HDR. Not only does it look like doo-doo but it helps stabilize fps so you don't see shit like 100fps on second, then 20fps the next. You will have to do this every time you launch. I've not yet found a way to keep that shit off, I can't find a console/cfg command to edit/add.
And now I'm almost back to 70%ish.
Hope you guys find similar success with this.
SOME USEFUL COMMANDS FOR CONSOLE!!!
- cl_radartype 2 -> sets to old-style radar, however it reverts to new gay while dead. I've submitted for the bug.
- cl_disablefreezecam 1 -> Disables the killcam
- cl_disablehtmlmotd 1 -> Disables the "Messege Of The Day", so you can load faster while knowing all of TD's rules inside and out otherwise me or iCe will ban you :)
I'll try to find more.
