RAID Geeks

So, I finished building my new box and I'm having one little problem. My 3ware RAID controller is only being initialized on cold boot; I can't use my RAID1 drives if I reboot. My mobo BIOS is up to date and I flashed the firmware on the RAID controller. That didn't fix the problem. The mobo has integrated RAID, but I'm reluctant to use it because, 1.) I don't want to risk losing data by creating new RAID volumes and, 2.) it doesn't seem like a portable solution. I'm not sure how standardized RAID1 controllers are, but I don't want to find out that I can't take the drives to another computer later because the RAID controller is different. I'm not about to send the mobo back because I just don't have time in my life right now to rebuild. Plus it's really more of an annoyance than a serious problem to have to shut down rather than reboot. Any RAID experts out there have any suggestions?

I just started playing around with Raid myself. Everywhere I've read suggests hardware raid is the way to go if you can afford a decent raid card. Those cheaper raid cards are no good and i'm not sure which you have so..
I don't want to give you any advice on the raid part but would suggest looking into the power management option in the bios or might be some registry values that need to be a set [save a backup of registry b4 you mess with it] and contact 3ware for advice..

Just looked at the date, and you've probably figured this out by now.lol
