Windows Standby

Does anyone know if there is such a file in windows somewhere when you click on it or open it the computer will go into standby mode?

I have a new computer Logi Access 600 and I miss my standby button hardcore.

my aids method is to go into the bios settings, and look for the setting that controls what the button on your case does when pushed should be a standby/sleep option...

- what version of windows
- and a button on the computer, or a physical button on the case?

B. I can link a button on my keyboard to a file. I'm looking for a file that will activate windows stand by option.

Edit: also, a Win XP specific thing is to make a Shortcut and put in the Target line:

Ya SJ's got it... I've never quite done it like that.. I've usually just hit the power button to activate stand-by mode, or "Sleep" ...

yea most machines = press power = sleep hold down for a few seconds = power down.

no betterman spinnys actuly right, in your power options you can edi what the power button dose on the fron of your case. i have mine set so when you press it it gose into standby, and if i need to shutdown i just do that from the menu
