The following is CS:GO Beta Impressions article posted on ESL:
Valve finally pushed the button and brought the beta of the highly anticipated Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to all those lucky players who got their hands on a beta key. We would like to share with some of our first impressions of the beta with those who have not had the chance to play yet.
As announced, only de_dust and de_dust2 are available in the beta so far. Right now you can only play by setting up a local game and choosing a map or use the matchmaking to play on nearby public server. Servers are provided by Valve and are de_dust only so far. This is to showcase the updated version of the map, including some layout changes, which suit 5on5 matches far more than the original.
Crosshair blurring while moving zoomed-in with snipers
Bots fill up the teams to have 5on5s, can be replaced after dead with "use"
Only Valve servers are available right now; servers to rent will follow
Matchmaking picks servers based on your Steam Download Region / not your IP!
You can join servers your friends play on but not make teams, so far
On de_dust almost every single position has been changed in some way. Boxes have been added, moved and removed, objects have been moved around and a more modern style are the first things you will definitely notice.
