They gave me half a refund because they said I "used" it or some shit like that. I can't remember the exact reason as the store employee seemed eager to get me out of there.
Again, I have no clue on how to build a computer. Perhaps someone can direct me to a custom computer maker or refer me a pre-built? Thanks guys <3.

My personal experience with computer stores: CC has the worst customer service, is like they are pissed all the time.

He is lucky he got anything back really. Store policy is usually 15-30 days u can return for full refund if unopened and unused. Usually a store can offer full credit for in store purchase of original amt if there is a defect. Just cuz u dont like ur purchase anymore cuz it :feelsbad: isnt a legit excuse for full exchange/refund. Derp

See, its not like that here. Thanks to Walmart every store that wants to stay competitive will accept returns for any reason, even out of the 90 day window. my friend just returned a 42" he got bored of 6months after purchase to best buy, full refund in instore credit.

I never liked Canada Computers and their refund policy, other stores will give you a full refund within 15 - 30 days (for sure), for whatever reason you can think of. Now CC doesn't do that, they require you to pay a 5% restock fee.

On top of that, every time I go to any electronics store for a defected device, they nod and accept my request. At CC, they take my product, check it to see if it is really defective (for which I can understand), but the worst is when they try to convince me that I can still use it. "Oh ya thats fine it wont stop you from using it" what not....is stupid

Man, shoot... I didn't realize you were going to lose half of your investment... WTF?!?

How can you allow this? Check the your receipt, get the facts. Do not the store take that much money - that's not in their policy. The policy is on the back of the receipt. You can get the management fired for this. How could you let this happen and be ok with it?!?

The world's gone to shit my friend. I highly doubt anyone at CC would give a flying damn about customers seeing as their staff is already this shitty. The boss of that hell-hole probably isn't much better. Besides, getting ~1k back is better than getting no cash back, am I right?

I must say, in this situation, you're wrong. You lost One Thousand Dollars CDN out of Two Thousand Dollars CDN -> That's 50%! Return policy calls for 15% restocking fee, not 50%! You MUST fight this to CC headquarters!

Headquarters? I'd be surprised if they had one... it doesn't matter anyways. One of my friends at Best Buy hooked me up with a pre-built with a 30% off along with it.
