I've accumulated $110 in future shop gift certificates.

I am going to get the console, an additional nunchuk and remote, and Wii Sports resort which comes with 2 motion plus dongles for the controllers. comes to $395 including taxes and shipping.

Also I plan on soft modding the system as soon as i get it so i can download the games for free.

Anyone know more about the wii? good games/accessories for it?

You'll play it to death for about a month then it will sit and colect dust. It's not worth it. As for good games the new silent hill game is cool and looks realy good and the new Mario is a good throw back but not realy worth it

I bought one when it came out just to play Zelda: Twilight Princess. I then sold it after I passed it a couple of times.

I did play that new Mario. Really good old school fun. But, it sucks with 2 or more players - they just fuck everything up.

ah its mainly for my kids <5 years old, when they are out of control it will make a good distraction for them i hope. the wii sports demo that comes bundled with it is sufficient for them, i was playing it with them at a relatives house over the holidays it was ok (tennis and baseball), games like zelda are too big and will never get passed the first level.

im going to download mario kart and the new punchout as well, those games were bomb back in the day. silent hill i might actually try and beat, worth it cause they are free...

main concern i guess is getting the right mix of accessories.
the wii controller comes in two parts and is like $70. i dont want to bring it home and realize I'm missing some part to make it work properly. what an overall shit system though, if it was for me and you could download games i'd not hesitate to get the ps3 over all.

I bought it for my nephew for Christmas and my sister got him the new Mario game that cane out recently. Overall it's like crack to him, its difficult for him to put it down. Oh and he's 8 years old.

and also, id suggest getting wii sports resort, its fun shit, and has like 16 games, compared to the 5 or 6 awesome games that are on wii sports.

Its mainly good for when you have people over, or for kids, or for zelda twilight princess. that game pwns hard
