But it's not every round that I get that. I only get that type of HP when I flank a whole bunch. Plus, like I said, if I was able to flank them all, get up right behind them and kill them without them noticing me, would it have mattered if it was a gun I used or a knife I used? Because clearly none of those 4 guys I knifed saw me, and my 1 damage was from falling.

I agree. Baiting can be a problem. I won't bait anyone, but I won't pull out a gun to save anyone either. What I *do* do is say out what I see on my radar and where they might be coming from (i.e. "a couple guys just flanked spawn. watch behind you" and then proceed to flank *them*, but if you still get killed in a shootout or don't heed my warnings, then at the very least I'll be there to avenge your ass)

It was set at 40 on the old server. Hey I put in 30 and 50 as possible options too! It's not like I put 40, 50, 60 :P

if i was part of a group of 4-5 that you flank, and wasnt the first to die, 90% probability that i would see it on the radar, and turn around to shoot your ass. But i dont kill you, get you down to mabye 20-30, then you stab me, jump up back to 70, then rape the other 3 guys who are clueless because they are noobs, all of a sudden you're back at full health.

if you turned around and saw me then after I stabbed the first guy then you would be facing me and there would be no way for me to kill you with 1 stab. if, you missed so badly that you couldn't shoot me for 140+ close-range with your clip 30 AK bullets in the time that i charged at you and stabbed you twice, then you deserved to die


if i had used a gun when i flanked you all, you'd be typing:

because by the time you noticed that you teammate was dead, you'd be dead too, so if anything, using a knife actually gave you a fighting chance. and if your other 3 teammates are noobs as you say, then they would've been oblivious to my presence and would've died from my stabs regardless of my health.

2 *slashes* come very quickly. slashes do <10 damage and only ~30 in the back. there's about a 1 second lag time between stabs. you're under the impression that the knife is ridiculously overpowered, but you need to do some real full-time knifing to experience all the different scenarios and see actually just how lucky it is to survive a head on rush of knife vs. gun -- and that happens a lot less than bs headshots that everyone is complaining about all the time.

oh another thing: you can't stab going down a ladder. but you can shoot.

i guess that's all you can say after i've countered pretty much scenario you've thrown at me. i know knifing puts me at a disadvantage, but it made for some good times on the server and it's kinda what makes TD unique in a way as well (i'm not saying that i make the server unique, but rather the fact that more people get stabbed on TD than probably any other server out there).

knife syphon just gives us knifers more of a bonus and makes it more fun. it certainly won't deter me from knifing if it doesn't get implemented, but in the end it will be determined by the vote still. :)
