ORRRRRRRR, they come in Canada one family at a time, send all their money to another relative, get him and his family in, buy a house together, then transfer all money (now from two families) back home to yet ANOTHER relative family and get THEM over - and the cycle continues.

This continues until Toronto streets smell like a NY city sewer letting off steam in December, and wait times in the emergency are up to about 5-6 hours because Najeeb has a cold and will do nothing less than take advantage of the system. :D

Leroy, the way I see it is for people to want to leave their country, where all their traditions are allowed and observed, to a foreign country means they know it's a privilege. It is a privilege!

However this thread is about the anthem, and as much as I think gender equality is needed, things like the national anthem are sacred and shouldn't be changed to please this or that. In fact changing the national anthem when we have bigger issues regarding gender equality is hypocritical.

The reason they wear a turban on duty is because it's part of their religion, it has nothing to do with their country. Canada just understands that there are different ways of thinking and unlike other places in the world we don't say "it's our way or GTFO". We acknowledge other traditions, and that's what makes Canada, Canada.

I don't see any issue with families making money here (there for paying taxes), sending money over to family so they can come here (and pay more taxes) buy a house (pay a SHITLOAD of taxes) then bring MORE family over here and pay you guessed it MORE taxes. So BJ i suggest you buy a nose plug.

Also in order to get any kind of government hand outs (and be an immigrant) you need to wait a LONG time which means when people do come to Canada it's make it or brake it. They have no help beyond what money they came with. Doesn't sound like an easy task to me.
